According to Puran, the Brahmastra is one of the deadliest weapon created by Lord Brahma. It had the capacity to destroy and make complete annihilation of the target.
Actually in modern days, it is the Nuke which is having similar capacity but there is a big difference in this two. The former had the capacity to annihilate a group, a kingdom, or a particular person but modern day's Nuke is not capable of annihilate a particular target but as a whole. Thus the technology defined in Puran is much more advanced and still unconquered.
